[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As you know there have been some important changes to the JobKeeper rules recently which may impact on your obligations for August and beyond.

Importantly some employees not previously eligible may now be eligible.

Employees that may now be eligible include:[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

  • Employees (other than casuals) who have been employed after 1 March 2020 but by 1 July 2020;
  • Casual employees who did not meet the definition of a long-term casual employee by 1 March 2020,
    but did on 1 July 2020 (i.e. have now been employed for 12 months); and
  • Employees who did not meet the residency requirement on 1 March 2020, but did on 1 July 2020.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]In terms of the wage condition for the fortnights commencing on 3 and 17 August 2020, employers have until 31 August 2020 to meet the wage condition for new employees.

Please also ensure that nomination notices have been received back from new employees and you have communicated to them that they are now on JobKeeper.
